Sek-Tadi: Ankos in December could be considered if Social gathering order is amended: MCE
The Newly endorsed Metropolitan Chief Executive officer of Sekondi Takoradi, Abdul Mumin Issah has confirmed that the 2020 edition of Annual Masquerades Festival popularly known as “Ankos” might not come off due the Ban on Social gathering but there could be a way out if government amends the limit on social gathering.
He said this in his first media encounter
since he assumed office during an interaction with Kwame Offei on Adekye Mu Nsem on Spice 91.9 Fm
According Abdul Mumin Issah he will be glad to see the Masquerades during the christman season but such decision goes beyond his jurisdiction.
“I cannot give a go ahead for the annual Celebration by Masquerades(Ankos) to commence on december, such decision is above my jurisdiction. If his excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo lifts the ban on social gathering that is where I can also grant permission”.
He also added that if the president also amends the directive on social gathering to increase the number of people that can gather at a place at a particular point in time to an appreciable level, Ankos on december could be considered.
