NDC is poised to improve the quality of life for Ghanaians – Prof Jane Naana Opoku Agyemang

Prof Jane Naana Opoku Agyemang, Running-mate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has reiterated that the party is poised to promote peace, development in freedom and improving the quality of life for the Ghanaian people.

According to her, democracy is about tolerating each other’s opinions without provocations because one does not agree with you.

“In as much as we were given the mandate to assume leadership, we must also reciprocate the same and allow those who gave us the mandate by tolerating their views”, she pointed out.

Addressing members of the Western Regional House of Chiefs (WRHOC) in Sekondi as part of her four-day tour of the Western Region, she divulged that women participation is a priority to the NDC party and will see to it that more women are involved in government.

She maintained that the NDC can only build on the legacies of the past and where the erstwhile Mahama-led government left off than ‘building castles in the air’ and for that matter Ghanaians should consider giving them the mandate to take the reigns of government.

Ogyeahohoo Yaw Gyebi II, President of the WRHOC pleaded with the running mate to advise the party followers to avoid politics of insults and vices that have the tendency to disturb the peace process of the country.

He said, they should focus on their programs and policies and the achievements of the party when they were in government so as to sell to the people rather than resorting to violence and insults which will not augur well for the hard earned democracy of our beloved country.

Prior to the meeting with the members of WRHOC, Prof Agyemang paid a courtesy call on the members of the Sekond-Takoradi Ministers Network and later met and interacted with market women at the Sekondi Market.
